BSN & Co- Office Relocation

BSN and Co. is an accountancy firm located in Leederville.  They provide accounting and related services to a broad range of clients and a wide variety of industry sectors.

Problem:  BSN and Co. planned to relocate their office from Subiaco to Leederville and were looking to incorporate a major upgrade of their computer equipment and accounting software at the same time.  Their current networking infrastructure included two low end Microsoft servers and one Linux computer for POP3 email.

Solution:  Metrowest IT first prepared an office relocation plan to ensure all critical milestones were suitably managed during the office relocation. Approaching it this way meant potential problems could be identified ahead of time and plans made to avoid these issues. 

Prior to the move Metrowest IT built and configured a new server with Microsoft Small Business Server 2000 designed to replace both the existing Microsoft and Linux servers.  The new server, together with 14 new workstations, were ready prior to the weekend of the relocation eliminating the down time experienced as a result of the upgrade.  In addition we reconfigured six existing machines to the new server on the weekend of the move, and had all the new systems in place and ready to use on Monday morning. 

We also configured an automated an intuitive backup and antivirus solution; managed group email and internet policies; and provided remote support.  This eliminated BSN and Co.’s dependence on their existing internal IT support and created other cost savings across the board in the operation of their professional accounting practice.
